Imber Village, Salisbury Plain

A small farming village requisitioned by the War Department in 1943, the residents were evicted and the village has been hidden from the public on Salisbury Plain ever since.

I have been to Imber on each occasion it has been served by Routemaster buses one day a year for the past three years (2009, 2010, 2011) and I expect a service will run again in future years. Last year money raised was donated to the church and this year it was donated to the British Legion.
