HMS Royal Arthur was originally set up in the Butlins holiday camp in Skegness during the 2nd World War, it was one of several assessment camps where new recruits would be assessed, kited out and sent to there various depots. After the war the site was reverted back to a holiday camp and HMS Royal Arthur was relocated to to an establishment at Corsham Wilts where it stayed active until 1993 when the gates were locked for good and the site was left to rot.
